How to Order

Orders may be placed by mail, telephone, fax or email, or by using the site's Shopping Basket system.

Adding Items to Your Shopping Basket
When you search for books or browse our catalogues, you will see next to each item a "add to basket" link. This link adds the book in question to your shopping basket and shows you a summary of the items currently selected. You can review or edit the contents of your shopping basket at any time by clicking on the "basket" button at the top of the page.

Payments and Security
Payments to be made at the time of ordering, by VISA, MASTERCARD, SWITCH / MAESTRO, AMERICAN EXPRESS. For established customers, books may be sent with an invoice for payment within 7 days. The payment stages of the ordering process take place via a secure (SSL) connection to protect sensitive information from being intercepted. SSL is the de-facto secure server encryption standard, as used by all major e-commerce and internet banking systems.

Postage Rates
The shopping basket automatically calculates a postage cost based on average book weights. In some cases, with particularly heavy books or multiple volumes, it may be necessary to charge an increased rate. However, we will always contact you before charging any significantly increased postage.

Availability
All items are offered for sale subject to their remaining unsold. We endeavour to remove sold items as quickly as possible, but ask customers to appreciate that this removal process is manual and that it is, therefore, theoretically possible for an order to arrive whilst another for the same item is being processed.

Terms and Conditions of Trading
All items in this catalogue are in good or very good condition unless otherwise indicated. The books are in their original bindings unless otherwise indicated. Volumes which are larger or smaller than the average octavo (8vo) are identified by their height being given in centimetres. Ownership marks are not mentioned unless they detract from the appearance of the book or if they are of particular interest. Ex-library copies are identified as such.

Should it be found on receipt that any item has not been correctly described it may be returned as long as this is done within 7 days of receipt.

All prices are in £ sterling.
